Global health agencies are accused of incompetence

    Roll Back Malaria, the international partnership of donors committed to eradicating the disease, was accused last week of negligence and of a “failure to appreciate science” that was leading to preventable deaths from malaria.

    Dr Amir Attaran, project director at Harvard's Center for International Development, told delegates at the Oxford 2000 conference on tropical medicine: “There is too little competence on the part of donors. They don't know what they are doing.”
