    The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, which represents 18 colleges and faculties in the United Kingdom, has suspended its membership of the Joint Consultants Committee (JCC) because of the vote of no confidence in the General Medical Council, “as presently constituted and functioning,” passed overwhelmingly by the senior hospital staffs conference (10 June, p 1557).
