A serious outbreak of Escherichia coli food poisoning has affected the state of New York, United States, in the past few weeks, with more than 1000 people affected and two deaths.
The New York State Department of Health reported last week that a total of 122 cases of E coli O157:H7 had been confirmed on culture, 65 people had been admitted to hospital, and 11 children had developed haemolytic uraemic syndrome. …
