Independent hospitals in Britain, pressing to be brought into the same regulatory system as that being developed for the NHS, took their case last week to the House of Commons health committee, which is investigating the regulation of private health care.
In a paper prepared for the committee the Independent Healthcare Association stated that setting up two parallel regulatory systems for the public and private health sectors would be inefficient. …
