NHS Executive to research removal of patients from GP lists in England

Research into why 83 000 patients are removed from GPs' lists in England each year is being initiated by the NHS Executive. The chief executive of the NHS, Sir Alan Langlands, has agreed to look into the problem, which has been highlighted by complaints to the health service ombudsman sincehis jurisdiction was extended to general practice three years ago.
