A big week

This is no average week. Three big events have got us excited at the BMJ, and we hope that we can transmit at least some of the excitement to our readers.

Firstly, the British government has fired the starting pistol on the rationing debate (p 279). The BMJ may have been debating rationing for 15 years, but no British government until now has admitted its inevitability and made a beginning on the difficult job of deciding how to do it.
