The apparent complexity of combining research training with specialist registrar posts is a major source of anxiety to the brightest of trainees, according to the Royal College of Physicians of London, and they it is to address the issue. A one day training conference for those interested in pursuing an academic career will be held in the college on 13 January 1999. The conference will give aspiring academics the chance to question representatives of all the major research funding bodies and charities as well as regional deans. There is no charge for attendance.
