Private GP clinics criticised

A critical report of private, walk-in GP clinics in the magazine Health Which?, published by the Consumers' Association, has provoked a furious response from Sinclair Montrose Healthcare, the company that operates the medical centres concerned.
The report is based on the experience of investigators who posed as patients. The potential problems it highlights include lack of access to patient records and failure to ensure that details of every consultation are forwarded to the patients' GPs.
