Holders of qualifications from Irish colleges, long regarded as interchangeable with those from equivalent British colleges, will not be allowed to use them to support application for their certificate for completion of specialist training (CCST) in the UK. The government argues that to recognise one EEA qualification, it would have to recognise them all. A legal challenge to this position by the BMA has been abandoned after counselÑs opinion supported the government view.
