Psychologist wins damages over theft of research

A psychologist has won $1.67m (£1m) in damages from the University of Michigan after another researcher at the university falsely claimed her research as her own. The civil suit, which began in 1990, is believed to be the largest ever won by a scientist against a university in a professional misconduct case.
