Appointing new partners is something that many general practices have found more difficult in recent years, and in a buyer's market practices have to think more carefully about their strategy. A report published last month by two GP management consultants checklists the often underemphasised steps that a practice must first resolve internally-such as reviewing delegated tasks and clarifying the degree of flexibility in partners' contracts-before going on to discuss the more obvious aspects of advertising and recruitment.. Partners into practice is free from the Wilcox Penfold Partnership, Rowans House, Queens Road, Hethersett, Norwich, NR9 3DB, 01603 812525.
