Clear goal setting, choosing a partner who shares them, and contracting out the housework are the keys to combining a full time medical career and a family, according to a recent article in the Annals of Internal Medicine (1996;125 :618-20). Of course the author is female: we'll know sexism has fallen when such articles are written by men.
