    The demise of the Lisa Sainsbury Foundation was a matter of great regret to me. Five years ago I attended one of its three day workshops on palliative care, and it was a formative experience for me; not just the message, but the way it was taught. I was so enthusiastic that I organised another workshop for my own practice team in Crossmaglen. The foundation agreed to send two of its tutors, which was especially gratifying as at that time the troubles were at their height and Crossmaglen had a particularly malign if ill deserved name.
