US approves HIV “home test”

The first “home test” to detect HIV was approved in the US last week by the Food and Drug Administration. Until now, all HIV tests, whether they use samples of blood or saliva, have been done under the supervision of a health professional at hospitals, clinics, or doctors' offices.
