The Princess of Wales could have been kicking herself. Instead of hours of psychotherapy she might have had a deeper analysis in just half an hour while watching television. Dylan Evans, a psychotherapist, used published biographies and broadcast interviews to produce a 30 minute dramatisation, for Channel 4, of what could have happened if Diana had had Freudian psychotherapy. Apparently, he hoped it would be of help to her.

Nobody knows what its impact would have been, and you will not get a chance to judge for yourself. Though the programme was scheduled for 7 May, Channel 4 chiefs said on 2 May that “the idea did not work and we will not be transmitting it.”
