Prosecutors in Britain are to consider whether a man who admitted giving his 80 year old terminally ill mother an overdose of diamorphine should be prosecuted for killing her.

Greater Manchester police are preparing a file for the Crown Prosecution Service after Derek Rowbottom said that he gave the overdose at North Manchester Hospital to his mother, Alice, who was in severe pain and dying of liver cancer.
