    Australia's new federal health minister has confirmed that the health service faces cuts, despite an election pledge by the incoming coalition government to leave the Medicare health system untouched. The move comes as a surgeons' revolt has caused the new government to review controversial reforms to private health insurance introduced only a year ago.
