I have been in touch with the corresponding author of this paper, who tells me that data from this trial were not retained, in accordance with relevant guidance and patient consent. No additional data are available. Policies about data sharing and data storage have evolved over the years. At the time this paper was published, The BMJ did not have any requirements in place about providing access to data or storing data from clinical trials.
