GPs defer decision on sanctions ballot

Britain's general practitioners have decided to delay approving a ballot on possible industrial action over the out of hours issue while negotiations continue with the new health secretary and his officials. At last week's meeting of the General Medical Services Committee its chairman, Dr Ian Bogle, reported that he had met Mr Stephen Dorrell and put all the arguments to him forcibly.
