Nurses claim breakthrough in pay

The NHS Executive will tell NHS trusts that they cannot change nurses' working conditions as part of any pay agreement this year and that they should offer nationally a 3% increase in the cash element of London allowances. Other allowances relating to basic pay will be increased automatically. Bursaries for students on Project 2000 will also be increased by 3% …
