    Hospice care for children has developed rapidly over the past decade. As hospice care for adults has matured and become more widely available it is not surprising that similar ideas have been applied to the care of children with life threatening and terminal illnesses. In the United Kingdom this development has resulted in the opening of six hospice units providing respite and terminal care to children with a wide range of diagnoses.
