War Wounds of Limbs is an excellent book and had me riveted for the best part of three hours. It is very much a sign of the times: civilian surgeons such as the author can gain huge experience of treating wounds, which often surpasses that of their military counterparts.
The International Committee of the Red Cross has undertaken intensive work over the past 12 years, placing at least 25 separate teams worldwide …
