The editor of this unusual volume is director of the Linacre Centre, a national Catholic bioethics centre established in 1977 by the Roman Catholic archbishops of England and Wales, who are its trustees. I say unusual because the book effectively consists of two separate books, if not three. Tdhe first, of just over 100 pages, is a restatement of a working party report first published in 1982, entitled Euthanasia and Clinical Practice: Trends, Principles and Alternatives.
