We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant in Medical Microbiology (10 PAs) to join the team at Wye Valley NHS Trust.
Wye Valley NHS Trust is a small district general hospital with an on-site microbiology laboratory which provides services to 180,000 residents in Herefordshire and Powys. The laboratory is fully UKAS accredited and offers a wide range of services including 24/7 flu testing and gastrointestinal PCR. The consultant microbiologists provide a highly regarded, high quality clinical microbiology service and participate in a range of MDTs including OPAT, prosthetic joint infections, TB and NTM and diabetic foot infections
This is a replacement post following the retirement of the incumbent and the new consultant will join an experienced and enthusiastic colleague. Out of hours, cover is provided via a joint 1 in 8 rota with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust reimbursed at category A. The roles of infection control doctor and head of department will be allocated according to the experience and preference of the new post holder.

Any applicant who is unable to work full-time will still be eligible for the post on a part-time or job sharing basis and will take part in annual job planning within the trust.
