Clinical Fellowship Programme
Clinical Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (CESR)
Applications are invited for the position of Senior or Advanced Clinical Fellow (CESR supported post) from forward-thinking individuals who wish to pursue the CESR process. This three-year post provides structured training and support in gaining the skills and competencies needed in preparation for FRCEM and applying for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) to enter the Specialist register and is ideal for someone who aspires to be an Emergency Medicine consultant. This process allows recognition of training and experience outside a training programme to be used for accreditation.
The Clinical Fellowship Programme has a dedicated CESR support structure that actively supports doctors pursuing CESR in the following ways:
- CESR working group
- CESR peer group
- Dedicated CESR supervisors
- 1:1 meetings for formative and summative assessment
- Formal ARCP
- GMC workshops and internal training for CESR applicants e.g. PDP, eportfolio• Study Leave Budget
- Funded Royal College e-portfolio
As part the CESR process, Clinical Fellows will be allocated dedicated time to achieve the required competencies (subject to satisfactory performance)in a number of specialities as part of our commitment to career progression.
Job plans for Clinical Fellows recruited to these CESR posts would be structured taking into consideration the clinical and non-clinical requirements of the post-holder to complete the CESR application
