Locum Consultant General Surgeon
We are seeking a locum consultant general surgeon as a colleague to develop this expanding depatment. This appointment will be with a view to making a substantive appointment within a year of this role starting. The Department is based at the Trust’s Wexham Park Hospital site, which serves a population of approximately 0.5 million. You will join a team of ten consultant surgeons, giving an on-call commitment of 1:10. A subspecialty interest, particularly in upper gastrointestinal or paediatric surgery, will be an advantage and endoscopic skills are desirable. You will join a team of five colorectal plus four general and upper gastrointestinal surgeons. This team of ten consultants will help staff the new £90m rebuild of the elective hospital at the Heatherwood site and play a significant role in developing the surgical section of the Trust’s new £50m urgent care building at Wexham Park. This three-storey building, is delivering new models of care, with rapid ambulatory diagnostics and radiology for surgical emergency referrals, and ambulatory management for patients in preference to automatic admission.
