Our urology department is looking to appoint a locum consultant Urologist who will complement the existing skills of the department. The post is offered initially for 6 months and the primary location is flexible to the successful candidates preferences. This role will work as part of multi-disciplinary team of consultants, specialists, core trainees, and specialist nurses. The successful candidate will run outpatient clinics and operating lists.

What we look for:

  • FRCS (Urol) or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration and within 3 months of completion of CCT/CESR
  • Experience in all aspects of urology and in a specialist area
  • Proven experience in teaching and clinical audit

About the Department:

The urology department at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester provides a comprehensive service for the full spectrum of urological problems. In particular it has a national reputation for offering the latest minimally invasive treatments for a variety of conditions including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney stones and benign prostatic enlargement.

In line with national cancer standards we have weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and are able to provide a comprehensive service to our patients with a urological cancer.
