Consultant Medical Oncology Sarcoma, Germ Cell and Testes
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is an international leader in cancer research and development with plans to become a top-five cancer centre within the next five years. Applications are invited for a substantive full time consultant in medical oncology. This is a replacement appointment and the appointee will join the Sarcoma service and Germ Cell Cancer service and have a strong interest in Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer.
The appointee will join a team of 38 Medical Oncology Consultants at The Christie and be supported by a well-developed clinical research support department including trial managers, research nurses and data managers. This post will provide consultant level care for patients with sarcoma and germ cell cancer. This includes providing an excellent level of care through both outpatient and inpatient services to the patients referred to the services, having an active role in clinical research, training of junior medical staff and service improvement. The post holder is also responsible for providing specialist sarcoma medical oncology expertise to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in Oswestry and delivering an alternate weekly peripheral outpatient clinic for patients on this site.
