Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical School Education Consultancy
Part Time : 21.9 hours per week (60% FTE)
The appointment will be on UCL Grade CL8. The salary range will be £44,392 - £50,231 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
UCL Medical School (UCLMS) is looking to appoint a part-time Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow to support the delivery of high quality medical education. The post holder will report to the UCLMS Enterprise Director and will participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of all enterprise activity within Medical School Education Consultancy (MSEC) including delivery overseas.
The post holder will contribute to the development of educational materials and written and practical assessments, standard setting processes and faculty development courses. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to participate in education and evaluation activities as well as teaching and assessment on the UCL MBBS programme.
The successful candidate will hold a medical degree and will be a specialist trainee at grade ST4 or higher, or a post-CCT clinician and will have or be working towards a postgraduate qualification in clinical education or global/international health.
Experience in curriculum and assessment design and development and experience of education development, innovation and delivery at undergraduate level is essential as is previous experience of working in a medical school setting.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively within a team environment and on own initiative; the ability to produce concise and authoritative reports in the education arena and will be skilled in learning and teaching technologies.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake overseas travel on a regular basis and will show sensitivity to cultural differences as they apply in both education and healthcare settings.
Experience in the commercial aspects of education enterprise and an active research interest in medical education is desirable.
