Job Details

Hampshire Hospitals is looking for a general paediatric consultant with an interest in shared care oncology and expertise or willingness to develop an interest in paediatric ambulatory care. A proportion of the job plan will be seeing children in the Emergency department in newly created paediatric area, with the remainder of direct clinical care activities being consultant covering the general ward, oncology work, general outpatients and general paediatric on call which includes covering a level 2 neonatal unit. As with all new paediatric consultants there will be a requirement to do a small number of resident night shifts to support the middle grade rota. This post is based primarily at RHCH, Winchester with some joint care of oncology patients as required with Basingstoke

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large team of paediatric consultants serving one of the largest populations of children in the Wessex Region. The post has arisen due to the increasing demands on unscheduled attendances and to support the longer term plan to co-locate the well-established paediatric assessment areas within the emergency departments.
