An exciting opportunity has arisen for a research fellow to join the UK Early Diagnosis Initiative (EDI) for pancreatic cancer. This program runs from the Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine, University of Liverpool. The Liverpool pancreas group has an International reputation for clinical and basic scientific research in pancreatology with world class outputs.
The EDI program will identify patients who have new onset diabetes, collect, screen and analyse biomarkers for pancreatic cancer associated diabetes. The fellow will co-ordinate screening and recruitment of patients, take blood samples and biobank them. Candidate’s would be expected to register for a PhD in the University of Liverpool and would work on a project related to this program alongside Professors Costello (science) and Halloran (clinical).
Candidates will contribute to the general surgical on-call at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital at the surgical registrar level. Potential candidates must have GMC registration, have obtained the MRCS examination and have experience of working in the NHS at or beyond ST3 level.
