MEDICAL TEACHING FELLOW

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trust to appoint two Medical Teaching Fellow posts for trainees who satisfy the job description and person specification attached. The posts will be for one year and will have an 80:20 education and training/clinical split, aimed at trainees or doctors who are post Foundation Programme Training and above or equivalent. The posts will be Trustwide – working between the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate and The William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

The successful candidates would be expected to play a key role in enhancing the provision of high quality Medical Education and Training with a special interest in enhancing the application of educational theory into practice, this will include quality improvement of education and training through the use of education and other methodologies, for example Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), case studies and simulation etc. The successful candidate will be based in their particular specialty for clinical duties.

The successful candidates will be fully supported to undertake a university based postgraduate qualification in Medical Education, for example PG Certificate in Education.

The successful candidates will also work closely with the Medical Education team who will support them in developing education and training within their specialty, contributing to the key objectives of the department to provide training opportunities for both postgraduate and undergraduate medical students.

If you are a trainee and wish to apply for this post you would need to arrange for an Out of Placement (OOP) from your respective Deanery to undertake this role. The start date will be subject to the status of applicants.
