This post is primarily based at the critical care unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport which is one of two acute District General Hospitals in South East Wales within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The post-holder would also work in the anaesthetic department for part of this job.

The applicant will be expected to have completed specialist training in anaesthetics by the time of commencing this post.   Evidence of being able to provide an educational role is also desirable.  There will be opportunities to train in adult intensive care medicine, participate in the FICE accreditation (for Echo in the unit), supervise junior trainees, participate in the MDT working with allied health professionals and train hands-on with the chest ultrasound imaging.
