Applications are invited for the post of substantive Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and lead of the Labour ward, based at the William Harvey Hospital Ashford Kent.

The post has arisen as a result of the increasing clinical work load within the department as well as efforts to help reduce our referral to treatment times. We are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and enthusiastic individual.

We pride ourselves as a friendly department so we are looking for an individual who works well in a team setting.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with previous experience working in high risk obstetric units and will assume the Labour Ward Lead role when appointed.

We are looking for someone who has their MRCOG part 2/3. As well as a proven track record in high risk obstetrics.

The appointee will also be the Local Maternity system (LMS) Safety and Quality work stream lead and have 0.5 PA weekly in their job plan funded by the LMS. It is expected that the appointee will become the WHH representative at the Kent and Medway Local Maternity System, as well as the Maternity Voices Partnership.
