Job Details

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Consultant Paediatrician with sub-speciality training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine to work in the Emergency Department at its Denmark Hill site.

King’s College Hospital is the Adult and Paediatric Major Trauma Centre for SE London, Kent and Medway supported by our Helipad. Our Paediatric Emergency Department has undergone a recent renovation and is comprised of a 7 bedded Majors area, including an intensive observation bay, a 3 cubicle minor injury space, an adolescent room and a designated paediatric bay within the 10 bedded resuscitation area. There is a 5 bed paediatric CDU space as well.

As such, we are looking for an enthusiastic Paediatric Consultant with expertise in all aspects of Emergency Care of children to work with the Emergency Department team which includes 6 Emergency Medicine Consultants with sub-specialty training in Paediatrics. You will be responsible, along with the other Consultants, in maintaining and developing the high standard of care we provide to our patients. You will also be involved in the development of the paediatric observational medicine service on the new CDU.

This post will not contribute to on call rota for the Emergency Department but will include some evening and weekend working.
