Applications are invited for a Consultant Orthodontist. This is a new Consultant position to help with increasing demands on the service. All aspects of secondary care orthodontics are practiced with an emphasis on multidisciplinary cases including Orthognathic surgery, hypodontia and cleft lip and palate. Combined clinics are held in conjunction with the regional cleft team, a combined Orthognathic clinic with the Maxillofacial Surgeons and joint clinics with the Consultant in Restorative Dentistry are undertaken. There is the opportunity for the successful candidate to help develop the Orthodontic service with the current team with respect to both the casemix of treatments performed and the catchment area and volume of cases passing through the unit.

This post will be supported by a Full time Consultant, an Orthodontic therapist, Clinical Assistant, Hygienist and Nursing staff and the Maxillofacial Laboratory. Funding has been made available to train a further Orthodontic Therapist.  

The Orthodontic department is located in the purpose built department providing up to date facilities at Castle Hill Hospital.
