Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
This is an exciting opportunity to apply for this newly created post to support the increased workload, expansion and development of the Respiratory Department, including level 2 HDU beds. Appointees will join a team of eight existing respiratory consultants, one locum consultant, one specialty doctor, ten rotating junior staff, six respiratory nurse specialists, four specialist respiratory physiologists, respiratory and pulmonary rehabilitation physiotherapists in providing a comprehensive and innovative respiratory service.

The Trust received an overall Good for services at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital following its CQC inspection, and was recently announced the only hospital in the country to meet all of the key targets.
The Hospital has always been renowned for its friendly atmosphere and good working relationships. The Trust has University Hospital status with UCL and the Royal Free, which provides an opportunity to strengthen our teaching and R&D programme and brings a more academic environment to the hospital. This department is fully committed to teaching and training both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
The Hospital has easy access to central London and the rural Chilterns. Excellent schools are found nearby. There is also very good access to the Midlands and London by road or by rail. London Luton Airport is within fifteen minutes drive of the hospital. Residence is required within ten miles by road or up to thirty minutes travelling time of the hospital.
Applicants must be fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register and have MRCP. Specialist Registrars may apply if within six months of CCT. Candidates unable for personal reasons to work full-time are also invited to apply.
