Consultants in Medicine
POST : Consultant physician in stroke and neurology or medicine for the elderly (10 PAs Available)
Applications are invited for the above position in one of Scotland’s major teaching hospitals. The successful applicant will be based within the stroke team with contributions to either the neurology or medicine for the elderly service. The stroke service in Tayside is undergoing significant change with centralisation of stroke admissions for the whole of Tayside in a hyperacute stroke unit Ninewells Hospital. Ninewells has been selected to be the thrombectomy centre for the North of Scotland and the successful applicant will join the dynamic and innovative team developing and delivering this exciting new service with our interventional radiology colleagues. The successful applicant will be involved in the evening on call and weekend rota for the stroke service. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to take part in postgraduate training and education along with opportunities to collaborate in research, and quality improvement.
Candidates should possess MRCP and be on the GMC Specialist Register in Stroke Medicine and either neurology or medicine for the elderly or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview for the post.
