Consultant in Adult Forensic Psychiatry
Southern Health NHS Foundation provides specialist mental health services, learning disability services, community physical health services including community hospitals and specialist inpatient units, and primary care across Hampshire, and is one of the largest providers of its kind in the country.
We provide care to around 240,000 people each year, and employ over 6000 people, including doctors, nurses, therapists and support staff. We are part of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainability & Transformation Plan. We have an active research department and are a teaching trust, delivering training and teaching to trainees from a range of clinical backgrounds.
We are looking to recruit a consultant forensic psychiatrist to join the existing consultant team in our adult forensic inpatient services, based at Ravenswood House medium secure service and Southfield low secure service. This is a replacement post of 10 sessions/week.
We have a range of specialised forensic services including low secure and medium secure services for adolescents, adults and adults with intellectual disability, and community forensic services for adults including outpatient personality disorder and Pathfinder service, community forensic team, community forensic learning disability team and a stalking clinic.
Applications are invited from psychiatrists on the GMC Specialist Register or doctors who are Specialty Trainees within 6 months of completion of the CCT or hold an equivalent European or Non-European qualification.
This is an exciting time for specialised services in our Trust as we are embarking on ambitious plans to comprehensively re-provide our services. There are opportunities for consultants to participate in service development, teaching, research as well as management and leadership
