Locum Consultant in Gynaecology Oncology
This is a full-time (10PA) replacement subspecialist gynaecologist post in gynaecology oncology for a period of 12 months. The candidate will have completed the RCOG subspecialist training programme or its equivalent at the point of commencement.
The gynaecology oncology department, based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary, provides a tertiary service for treatment of gynaecological cancer in the West of Scotland Region (population >3 million).
You will work in a team, which at full strength consists of five gynaecology oncology surgeons and two specialist nurses working with the associated medical and clinical oncology departments.
The service has formalised support from colorectal surgeons enabling provision of radical surgery for ovarian disease. Support from allied specialties including plastics and urology is established. Candidates should have advanced laparoscopic surgical skills as well as competency in surgical management of all gynaecology cancers.
