We are expanding our workforce and developing existing services on both our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites. We are increasing our current Orthogeriatric service and developing our Frailty Units on the Tunbridge Wells site, with opportunities to be involved in service development on either site.

The successful candidates would be expected to support and lead on service development with the Department of Geriatric Medicine. Applicants should be on the Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine and ideally GIM and be within 6 months of CCT on the interview date.

As an organisation, we offer flexible job plans and will support individuals who wish to develop specialist interests such as Research, Education and Teaching. The Trust is closely involved in establishing the newest medical school in the country and is working alongside Kent & Canterbury Christ Church Universities to ensure the development of a modern training programme and curricula. Opportunities for those with interests in specific projects, service development and managerial roles will also be considered.

If you are a first-time Consultant we can offer you additional funding for CPD in  areas such as management, leadership and clinical skills. We also run a successful mentorship scheme.

The hospital sites are both located within a short distance of town centres, offering a range of amenities including shops, bars and restaurants and are on the doorstep  of some of Kent’s most beautiful countryside – the best of both worlds! There are fantastic travel links in Kent with key motorways such as the M2 and M20 and with excellent accessibility to both London and the continent by train. In West Kent there are many high-performing schools ranging from pre-school and primary to secondary school education, including excellent grammar schools, special needs schools and some of the top private education institutions in the country.

Applications for part-time working or job-share will also be considered.

We welcome informal department visits and are happy to discuss the
post with potential candidates. This can be arranged by contacting
