BARTS HEALTH NHS TRUST
St Bartholomew’s Hospital
Allergy Service, Department of Respiratory Medicine
Substantive Full-time Allergy Consultant- 10 PA’s
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our Allergy service based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
Barts Health Allergy Centre, within the Department of Respiratory Medicine, is a specialist unit designated by NHS England to provide regional tertiary–care services for allergy. In addition it receives primary and secondary care providers’ referrals. This is post that has been created to enhance our already well-respected service: Barts Heart Centre and Barts Cancer Centre are expanding regional specialist centres, and an increasing volume of urgent drug allergy challenges for patients under specialist care has led to the development of this new post. The post-holder will in particular focus on outpatient and inpatient drug allergy challenges as well as leading on transition pathways for complex paediatric allergy patients moving into adult care, in addition to contributing to general allergy referrals. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary specialist team providing care for respiratory patients.
Applicants should be eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the specialist register and possess a CCT in Allergy from the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, or be within 6 months of obtaining it.
Job plan is subject to negotiation and can be flexible if necessary.
