We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our Critical Care service in Aberdeen as Locum Consultant. The post has a 50% commitment to General Intensive Care, and a 25% commitment to each of Medical High Dependency and another base specialty (Anaesthesia or Emergency Medicine).  The post is available for a period of 6 months with a possibility of extension to 12 months.

Located in the North East of Scotland, Aberdeen is an affluent, friendly and vibrant city, combining all the amenities of a large city with quick, easy access to its beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline.  

The Intensive Care component of the post consists of one in 7 weeks of general ICU duties, while Medical HDU duties are built into a 4 week block occurring every 16 weeks. The remainder of the clinical component of the post can be altered to suit the successful candidate. Sessions are available in Anaesthesia and Emergency Medicine for appropriately trained individuals. Other specialities may be possible by negotiation. 

The Critical Care Unit is modern and well equipped, providing all aspects of organ support. There is a strong commitment to service development including an active Quality Improvement programme. As part of a teaching hospital, there is a strong link with the University both in terms of teaching and research.
