Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeon)

About the role:

The successful candidate will participate in the cardiac and thoracic surgery program at The Townsville Hospital including cardiac and thoracic surgery, teaching and research; providing a comprehensive general diagnostic and therapeutic service to patients. Service provision will be in accordance with departmental needs during normal working hours and as rostered for after hours and weekends. It will encompass inpatient and outpatient and day care; and may vary depending on organisational needs and objectives.

What's on offer?

Remuneration package of up to $446,547 p.a., comprising salary range of $179,703 - $227,843 p.a.* (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave (3.6 weeks p.a.), private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable). Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications. *Wage rates effective as at 1 July 2019. Permanent full-time or part-time position (Hours negotiable)

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) is responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research to a population of approximately 250,000 people and is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia.
