This is an exciting opportunity to work in the largest hospital trust in the South West Peninsula which provides a broad range of secondary and tertiary services to the population of Devon, Cornwall and beyond. We are a teaching hospital in partnership with the rapidly expanding Plymouth University.

The Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced, credible and visionary clinician to this new senior leadership role. The Deputy Medical Director will support the Medical Director in relation to support of the Care Group Directors and Managers. Responsibilities will include professional support and oversight of the care group leads and service line clinical leaders with particular responsibility for productivity linked to the Getting it Right First Time and Model Hospital projects and supporting the Medical Director and Chief Clinical Information Officer in the development of the digital care records solution for UHP.

The post holder will be required to deputise for the Medical Director in all aspects of their professional and statutory responsibilities.
