We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Consultant Dermatologist to join our busy dermatology department based in the cathedral city of Canterbury. Continue reading for Recruitment and Retention Package.
We are a University Foundation Trust and have a passion for clinical excellence, multi professional working and education. Many of our consultants enjoy additional posts in the Trust, Deanery, BAD and Nationally. You will be working in a team of four Consultants with diverse clinical interests. We also have 2 specialist registrars as part of the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Deanery training rotation between East and West Kent and a number of excellent Hospital doctors.
The dermatology department has a centralized academic, cancer management and special interest center in Canterbury, with additional outpatient clinics in Ashford, Margate, Dover and Folkestone, covering a population of 760,000.
The department provides many subspecialty clinics such as dermatological surgery including a Mohs unit, paediatrics, contact/occupational dermatitis, vulval dermatoses and a full phototherapy service. There are five dedicated specialist nurses developing their nurse led services. Inpatients are admitted under the hospital medical teams and there is no formal after hours on-call commitment.
You will be on the specialist register, or within six months of your CCT, and have good experience of performing head and neck skin cancer surgery. Training in Mohs micrographic surgery is desirable but not essential.
We can offer full, part time and flexible opportunities.
We have great transport links to London & the continent and are set in beautiful countryside with easy access to many great Kentish beaches and towns with excellent schooling.
We regularly attend academic meetings in London including the RSM and have strong academic links to both St Thomas and Kings College Hospital.
