We are delighted to invite applicants for a Microbiology or Microbiology/Infectious Diseases Consultant to join our team. We have laboratory facilities at both Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital and our team rotates between them.
This is a replacement post to support increasing demand on the Clinical Microbiology Service and to support our OPAT service and antimicrobial stewardship activities. The post includes a one in five on-call rota.
You will be joining to create a team of 6 (5.4 WTE) highly motivated clinically orientated Microbiology colleagues. Our focus is to deliver the best possible care for our patients, with excellent treatment and outcomes.
In addition to general clinical microbiology duties the appointee will be expected to play a significant role in facilitating antimicrobial stewardship in the organisation and the delivery of the outpatient intravenous antimicrobial treatment service.
The postholder must be a registered medical practitioner and on the Specialist Register of the GMC or be eligible on the specialist register within six months of the date of the Advisory Appointment Committee.
Part time requests will of course be considered. If appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust, in consultation with consultant colleagues.
