The advertised post is for full time Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust.  We are looking for highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our existing team of 46 radiologists to deliver the service and to support an active academic programme. The post-holder has a full-time consultant contract funded by Barts Health NHS Trust (BH), and an honorary contract with The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) Queen Mary’s University London (QMUL) will be provided. The post-holder will undertake 3 academic programmed DCC activities and 5 clinical programmed DCC activities.

A specialist interest in uroradiology, lymphoma, gynae oncology or NET/endocrine tumours is desirable.  The post will be based primarily at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Royal London Hospital.

There is a large oncology unit at Barts including uro-oncology, gynae-oncology, haematological malignancies, breast, melanoma and thoracic malignancies. The consultants will form part of an existing team of 13 consultant radiologists in oncology and breast imaging.

Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent experience in general imaging, oncological imaging and acute general radiology, including trauma. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop subspecialty interests in any of the above areas. They will undertake general ultrasound, general and sub speciality oncology CT and MRI. In view of the oncological requirements, experience in PET CT or dual qualification is desirable but not essential. Experience of US or CT guided liver and other oncological biopsies is desirable. The candidates will be expected to participate in a general on-call and a weekend reporting session rota.

Barts Health has a large number of clinical trials supported by the imaging department. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in RECIST/ mod iRECIST/CHESON trial reporting for oncology clinical trials. Existing experience in trial reporting is desirable.   

At Barts and the London Hospitals there is a highly successful training programme with 35 registrars. The successful candidate will be expected to be trainers for the training programme.
