Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals is the regional teaching hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat over half a million patients a year.

Trauma/Regional/Orthopaedic/General

We are looking for 2 outstanding colleagues to join our large and progressive teaching hospital department, and further develop our excellent clinical and academic reputation. We are a dual hospital trust, with the successful candidate working between the two sites to contribute to the continued safe care of our patients.

We are recruiting for positions to join our supportive, friendly and welcoming department - working in a tertiary centre, a trauma centre and with strong connections with the medical school – and within our sister site of Princess Royal providing excellent elective care to Sussex.

Here at BSUH we have really exciting times up ahead, with a new non PFI £500 million hospital rebuild in progress, and a vision to continue to excel at proving emergency and elective care.  We have the benefit of living within a fantastic city, with the sea at the front door, and aim to focus on providing the best work-life balance with our colleagues. We are continuously exploring ways to expand flexible working and find a rota that can suit all. BSUH is continuously expanding, and alongside this is attracting more and more interesting (and often challenging) work load. We are striving for a department of excellence.

In January 2019, The Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its report following its recent inspection of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH). This showed a significant improvement in our rating to ‘Good’. The Trust is ‘Outstanding’ for caring.
