Do you want to work in a friendly department within the HSJ Highly Commended Acute Trust of the year 2018?

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There are 3 posts available. These posts are due to retirements and new service activity and are full-time 10PA Contracts. An additional 1.0 Direct Care PA will be offered.

In the National Staff Survey our trust was recognised as the top trust in the country in which to work. We have the opportunity for an enviable work life balance with miles of sandy beaches and a large natural harbour on our doorstep, as well as easy access to the Purbecks, New Forest and beautiful Dorset countryside.

We are proud to have received Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) from the Royal College of Anaesthetists after an extensive Peer review in recognition of our commitment to quality and patient care.

We are a cohesive, friendly Department and actively planning for significant service reconfiguration with other Trusts in Dorset, particularly Poole which is our neighbouring acute trust and this post will involve working at both Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals. Bournemouth will become the major emergency hospital with major surgery, critical care, obstetrics, trauma and paediatrics and Poole will become the planned care site with a high volume elective surgery. There will be significant capital investment in this project with new build theatres at Poole and critical care and maternity at Bournemouth.

This will be an exciting opportunity to become involved in shaping and planning the service, striving for excellence for our patients.
